This unique Mid-20th Century long necklace created by highly regarded Italian goldsmith, Carlo Weingrill, is truly a jewel in every regard. All gold surfaces, even all connecting links, are highly hand worked with prominent repeating designs. The chain is 32 inches in length with each link having a diameter of approximately 1/8 inches. A total of nine unique shape Lapis beads punctuate the length at 2 1/2 inch intervals. Each Lapis bead has a diameter of approxmately 3/8 inch. The appearance is classical and one of very high quality. An inline plunger clasp that is made to appear as a link, offers secure and worry free wear. There is an additional figure eight safety clasp. Two Italian stampings on the plunger are 750, indicating 18K gold and 15VR which is the Italian control marking for Carlo Weingrill gold creations.
