This incredibly inventive Mid-20th Century "small animal riding an elephant's back" brooch is as whimsical as it is wonderful. The elephant is crafted from fine mauve and green jadeite jade with calibre cut Burma rubies, single cut diamonds with a turquoise cabochon finial. Total approximate diamond weight is .15ct. Golden tassels hang from the parasol, adding additional visual interest. Gold karat is 14K and, while yellow gold comprises most of the brooch, diamonds and rubies are set in white gold.
