2.06ct Color Change Bluish Violet Sapphire set in White Gold & Diamond Mounting

$4,500.00

This very unusual and palpable 2.06 carat bluish violet to purple, natural color change sapphire, is set, exquisitely, in a modern 18k white gold mounting which exhibits heavy hand engraved embellishments and mill graining. GIA certificate number 1236031241 describes the stone's unusual color change phenomenon, and will accompany the ring when sold. All color change gems are rare and highly prized. It is additionally set with twenty four brilliant cut diamonds surrounding and flanking the sapphire, having a total exact weight of .38ct. Overall diamond quality is G color and VS1 clarity. This particular sapphire changes color from a bluish purple to violet depending upon the type of light in which it is seen. Exposure to daylight as opposed to fluorescent or incandescent light will cause the color change. The change is a more subtle change rather than a dramatic change. The last photo of the listing shows the sapphire in lighting that brings up the violet tone. Inside the shank is stamped 750, exact gem weights and Rothschilds, for the maker. Ring size is 6 1/4. Gross weight 6.45 grams.
