This wonderful foliate brooch, crafted by esteemed maker Van Cleef & Arpels in 1958 is a classic design. Consists of one leaf gently resting on top of another leaf, set with 6 round faceted Burmese Rubies in a line down the center of the leaf on top, and 5 Burmese Rubies in a line down the center of the leaf underneath. Total approximate weight of the 11 gems is 1.00ct. The brooch can be worn in either direction. The double pin keeps the brooch stable. On the reverse the clip head is stamped Van Cleef & Arpels, 1958 and bears the copyright seal indicating that the design is proprietary. The double pin keeps the brooch from rolling over when worn. A 750 stamp at the base of the clip designates 18k gold. Measures a full 3 1/8 inches long. Gross weight 19.75 grams.
