This extremely well detailed E. Wolfe signed aviary brooch, from the workshop of the well respected English Jeweler, depicts two birds on a branch either sharing or competing for a hapless worm. Extreme attention has been paid to the texture of each branch as well as every feather. Each head is realistic and lifelike. Eyes are small round Burma rubies and leaves are vivid blue sapphires. A total of thirty seven brilliant cut diamonds have a total approximate weight of .35ct and an overall quality of G/H color and VS1 clarity. Total approximate weight of two luxurious opal cabochons is 4.50ct. Sapphire and ruby combined weight is approximately .30ct. From left to right the brooch measures 2 3/8 inches, and from top to bottom the measure is almost 1 3/4 inches.The rear is stamped W. Wolfe & Co. British work shop and gold content marks, the Viennese Convention gold control stamp and is hand signed E. Wolfe. Gross weight 17.00 grams.
